The Riverside Surging Dragons were on hand to help Zemarc and its promise to invest in the livelihood of our community by volunteering for the Chemistry is Cool program thrown by the Chamber of Commerce’s Industrial Council. The program, hosted by Ashland Chemical, builds interest in the STEM field and consists of 6 experiments that allow youth to explore science in a hands-on way. The Surging Dragons, some of which had never volunteered before, enjoyed working with the elementary students at Bandini and Rosewood Elementary School and wished that they had been exposed to activities like this when they were younger. In fact, they all seemed to agree that there is a disconnect with what kids are interested in today versus what they are exposed to. It’s clear that outreach is essential and as Zemarc continues its contribution to the community, we will keep you informed on ways to pitch in.
